This one was originaly destined to be kind of a medic. He has a prothesis, which is probably pretty rare (functioning ones, at least) therefore reserved to some special professions amongst the (like medics, chiefs, etc)
Badass ganger. A motor in your face may hurt.
One eye. But the good one ! (no, it's just a mask)
And then, some fauna
"Petrapode", kind of a big insect made of stone. A bit weird, i must admit, but i think it would fit pretty well the vast and arid areas of dust and rock of Grey Waste...
Thanks malika Paid ? Noooo, i was reading the background and rules and got inspired... that's it Yeah i've been watching at redemption sector (not much sciror tho). Lots of good stuff there.
That armoured car would fit well i think ! I like the way you put the gun in the hull, and the overall bulky look of your car. Although in my mind it's not clear what kind of technology is accessible (and how) in Blood and Dust. Hovering, yes, but i would say it should have bigger and not very reliable engines instead of fine and precise engineering the size of a tire. Like if they were trying to recreate the advance technology they knew, or mending pieces of adv techno partly spared from cataclysm with chew and string, if you know what i mean.
I like the armoured car, hover tech does exist in the game but it's rare and expensive especially on bigger/heavier vehicles.
the way its working out ATM there are a number of basic vehicle types
Chariot, Cart, Wagon, Bike (&Side Car), ATV, Buggy, Car, Off Roader, Truck, Tank, Barge
these are then customised with one or more upgrades such as
Dozer Blade, Armour Plating, Fast, Spikes and Blades, Ram, Hover, Aquatic, Amphibious, Extra transport capacity, Extra weapon mounts etc.
and obviosly weapons.
for example malikas creation could be a car, buggy or Off Roader with armour plating, ram, hover (and possiblly amphibious)
that said it currenly looks a bit to 'clean' and sleek, most hover tech is patched together from 1000 year old parts that survived the event more or less intact. people can build hover engines out of existing parts, copying the assembly of surviving hover moters but lack the knowlege to make new components (at least until the steel renaisence module of the campaign)
i imagine the hover motors would be larger and more utilitarian looking as well. they are often stripped from thier original vehicles (which are seldom intact) and fitted onto a new chassis
as for the beastmaster, he looks great. gamewise a beastmaster would have command either a pack of hunting/guard animals like dogs, mutant lizards etc. or a smaller group of beasts of burden such as pack horses, neohippus (an omnivorus paraceratherium like evolution of the horse with pangolin type scales, about 2-3 meters tall) or other bigger beasts. large predators/combat beasts may be herded by a team of beastmasters and run the risk of going on a rampage
There are slaves in game but they are associated with slavers and enforcers rather than beastmasters

What Grey Wastes could look like from the ground...
And what it could look like from space. However, i doubt anyone on Grey Wastes know how their planet looks like. Most geographic and topologic datas were lost during the "Event", therefore i imagine most common and affordable maps being drawn only by hand on parchments or papyrus, showing only the main roads connecting the main towns and bought from specialized expeditionaries mandated by merchant guilds or prospecting clans (themselves probably hired by the same merchant guilds).
More jawdropping stuff Flokr! There is a few things that aren't quite right with some of the pictures, i hate to notpick and my issues are most certainly not with the execution, more with areas of the concepts that i've either not explained properly or that you may have overlooked (it's not like the summaries are up to date :
I'm going to go through all the images you've posted in this thread, in the order they've been posted here and give you my feedback.
you're right, functioning augmetics are rare and people with the knowledge to fit them are even rarer. i like to nonchalant pose and though if he could afford the arm then he could afford some better clothes or armour, think exotic furs and hides improted from the jungles/forests of the direveldt or devils scars. the blade straped to his hand is also a bit wierd (not that i'm opposed to wierd) it looks out of place next to the augmetic arm. if he's going to have a high end bionic (which by wastelander standards he has) then he's likely a high ranking settler or very sucsessful merchant or mercenary rather than a simple ganger
I've no gripes with this picture bar the metal plate implanted into his forearm. otherwise he's a brilliant example of a wastelander, poorer settler or cheaper mercenary
Again, very good. i'd suggest more fur and scale textures and maybe a few feathers or quills to break up his silhouette. the mask is more in line with what i had in mind for the bloody dawn bandits
4) Bug I'm not exactly sold on the face and i'd prefer a slightly more conventional insectiod body shape but i love the idea of a fighter diving for cover amongst piles of rubble and finding he's hiding behind nest of predatory bugs
I've got nothing bad to say about this one except he could maybe do with taking the stairs a little more often. remeber food suply is erratic in the wastes and often gained through forage
Perfect, though i do imagine the occasional swashbuckling moustache as well as gaudy bandanas and tassels tied to thier clothing. for some reason i see a slight pirate vibe to wastelander mercenaries, a bit jack sparrow and his dad. love this pic though he has the right feel of cockyness and arrogance i picture for these guys, dashing but d!ckish, a bit like old skool rock stars
7) Grey Wastes
8) Planet view
the planet has 3 continets, forests and plenty of oceans, it's not a blue/green planet like earth more a green/brown/grey one but there's more to it than just a dust bowl. more importanly the planet has a large moon (similar to our own) and an asteroid belt that is the remants of a second moon
@ Burano. i'm thinking on going with this comic.graphic novel style for the illustrations in the book, it suits a couple of the artists i have involved in the project and i think it suits the genre. it won't be the only artistic style in the book but it will feature quite prominently as i was inspired in part borderlands, the fallout comic from penny arcade and judge dredd amongst other things. it's been a long time since i've tried that style myself but i'm busy practicing.
There will be models made sooner or later and i have made a few attempts at starting but as many of the concepts are still in a state of flux it not got very far yet.
If anyone wants to have a go at anything then just PM me (mostly to make sure i know whats being worked on)
Roadkiller ; i don't know much about the standards of vehicles in wastelander, but i guess this could be a medium to heavy vehicle, in term of armor and weapons. What's the lighter type of vehicle ? Bikes with/without sidecars ? (but i realize this roadkiller would be too "high tech" for a bunch of raiders who will prefer animal mounts and would be reserved to the elite or to some rich clan leader).
