For the brief I'd need a theme (such as a specific race or character class), maybe a couple of paragraphes of text adding some depth and direction to the theme perhaps covering the subjects anatomy/lifestyle/traits/personalitis and seen as you already have established visuals/aesthetics i'd need suitable reference pictures. especially things like weapons
I'd suggest you read the Sculpting Challenge 2.0 thread to get an idea of what it's about. it's not a competition, the challenge is to push the boundries of your scuptural comfort zone and learn something new
Obviously the challenge would need your permission to use SSDC IP. i don't want to be in a situation where i have to decline participants because they havn't signed the paperwork/NDA so i'd prefer you didn't supply unreleased work you want to keep for future publications.
a skeletal diagram (even a really rough one) would be a godsend, the mix of chordate and invertebrate features has thrown me slightly.
I'm also uncertain of the anatomy of the face, in particular the mouth. in some images it's beak like, in others it looks more teeth like with lips. also are those tusks, horns or mandibles? how and what do they breathe? through thier mouths or do they have spiracles?

Thanks for explaining the brief. That helped. I'll try and write something up for that.
Phentari are methane breathers, but they breathe through their mouths and small holes in their face. The large things are more like tusks than anything else; the older you are the longer. Their mouths have a kind of random number of teeth; some of the confusion comes from the fact that a lot of this art has been drawn over the course of 20 years and a fair amount of artistic license has been used. I think the small pointy teeth are what we've settled on. I'll do some more detailed sketches to help out.
One thing with all of the races in the game (except maybe the lizards) is that they are all more advanced than humans, some many thousands of years more advanced. So they are not creatures, and should have gear, and clothes, and sophisticated looks. Still, it's a big universe so there is a lot of room for creativity.

So here's the list of the player races and what you guys have made so far. Ferk has done a Furbl, Jezzadei, Orion, I-Bot/Cyborg; Alex has done a Python Lizard, 2 Ram Pythons, 4 Mutzachans, 4 Humans, and 2 Eridani; and I think Ed had a Ram python and Eridani in the works. So here's what we have:
Aeodronian Andromeni Ashanti Chatilian Cizerack Eridani (2) (Ed had a WIP too) Fott Furbl (1) Gemini Goola-Goola (need new design from SSDC) Human/Gen-Human (4) Orion (1) Ikrini Jezzadei (1) Kizanti Mazian Misha Mutzachan (4) Phentari Python Lizard (1) Ram Python (2) (Ed had a WIP too) Sye-Men Tanndai Zen Rigeln/Tza Zen Rigeln I-Bot/Cyborg (1)
I seem to remember someone said they were trying to work on an Andromeni, the energy creature. So there's a lot left open still. I think the most popular races with no sculpts yet, would probably be Phentari, Cizerack, Zen, and Chatilian. I've got art for everything, though some races have much more than others (for instance I think there are only 3 drawings of a Misha ever).
Anyone need art for inspiration or any other ideas? Just chime in and I'll do what I can. Thanks.
