Thanks, and it will help
It may be a bit early, but do you have any ideas of the type of unit you'd like to make?
It that a 'yes' vote?
I think that has to come later, baby steps!
I think the Kickstarters by Ed, where he hires artists and sculptors, this makes a lot of sense.
With the community Kickstarters I wish to give new talent a platform, where they can express what they want to do, and that means they are unlikely to fit neatly into a theme. However, I think it is possible to present a unified front that the public, and Pledgers, will understand;
I suppose an analogy of the idea behind this would be a night at a comedy club, everyone who gets on stage is a comedian, but they are all going to be very different, yet everyone knows (in a weird way) what to expect. In contrast the more 'company' way would be a comedy show like a sitcom. Both have their merits, and both bring a smile to the audience.Perhaps with the confidence of a successful Kickstarter behind them the sculptors have a proven reason to develop their line further. As their line takes off, and attracts fans and talent, it may start to drift towards more conventional way of doing things, or it may spiral off into new things. Things we cannot foresee.
I suppose I imagine TFM as a breeding ground for 'new companies', where Ed handles production and selling. I can set up new sections for specific 'companies', maybe even sort out new website designs as fronts (or they could sort them out - like the way M.O.T.N did), but all going through TFM.
A real community of connected 'companies', setting up their own Kickstarters, and all with TFM at the heart of it all. A universal foundry for the community.
Think of the possibilities if we could make this happen. If we make it this easy. Think of all the new settings and miniatures that would come about because of TFM.
One day TFM may even have a 'business package'.
But it all starts small...
