Hey Philip, does your blog still have many readers? Maybe you could also post about this over there?

I’ve spread da word on twitter, youtube, facebook so far. I’m gonna do a one for my website on the homepage. There's a few people in particular I'll direct it to and I’ll see if I can get ‘em to put it on their podcasts! I'm gonna pledge at some point, once I get my car insurance outta the way (they increased my premium for no good reason, the bastids!). Might be a bit last minute, but I'll definitely put something in!!

Hey, I can't get online much lately and I'm not massively familiar with Kickstarter, so I wondered if there was a way I can donate but not get the figures? Not that I don't believe they'll be top-notch, just that it'd be kind of impractical with where/how I'm living Hope this goes well for you Ed, how you can cope with all this work and a family is near superhuman ;D

I know you can select the option not to get any of the gifts whilst donating.

Philip, this is supposed to be for blogs but I have no idea what it is or how to use it. <a href="http://www.kicktraq.com/projects/131182444/assimilation-alien-host/" target="_blank"><img src="http://www.kicktraq.com/projects/131182444/assimilation-alien-host/minichart.png" alt="Assimilation Alien Host -- Kicktraq Mini" title="Assimilation Alien Host -- Kicktraq Mini"></a>

mushroom-minis.blogspot.de/2012/10/eds-kickstarter.htmlI was a bit confused at first and read about people thinking the same on other forums; your project front-page doesn't clearly point out you're not offering the old grubs but redoing them. " A few examples can be seen here:" Sounds like those are the new ones, it's the old ones, right ? And can someone fill me in on Kickstarter ? Can I pledge without a credit card, if so, how ? I'd really like one of those new grubs. Cheers

I'm confused as to why, people not reading or watching video? It says so on the page? I'm guessing people tend to read pictures before reading words ? Then for me there was that sentence I pointed out, made me wonder and think twice about what was offered exactly. It was obvious after listening to the video but not at first sight.

Perhaps an extra paragraph explaining exactly what it happening.
i.e.
Summery: re-sculpt the popular worm grubs (see image, each ##mm tall) to 28mm scale. Offer garage kits (large sculpts - *not* 28mm scale) of worm host (##mm) and swarm adult (##mm), also sculpt 28mm re-versions of the garage kits as shown by Des Hanley's sketches.

I think I made it apparent now but you never know. If people think these are the old version and not new sculpts I guess it's all fucked up now.

I find you can never explain enough (or at least that's my experience), everyone looks at things differently and when in doubt: spell it out I think those who have pledged so far understand what is one offer, you are now reaching out to others outside TFMs usual sphere of influence. (Remember how difficult it was to explain what TFM was back in the 'old days' and all that brain storming on how to explain what TFM was about, and what it does?) Add some more updates and I'm sure those who are confused will not be, and join in. There is no limit to the number of updates, and more info is always good (it also gives you a chance to interact with pledges, and learn as you go - part of TFM's always learning and ever advancing MO). This is your first kickstarter I don't think anyone expected it to be 'perfect', half the fun is in the learning and listening to your fans! ;D
Little changes like; The Grub worm have been sculpted but I wish to revisit them and improve their quality while also retooling them in trollcast. to The Grub worm will be a smaller re-sculpt of an earlier version available in the store. I wish to revisit them, to improve their quality, while also reducing their size so they can be Trollcast. notes: states it's a re-sculpt and why, links to store so anyone who sees the old grubs and likes them can find and buy them, and it capitalises 'Trollcast' as part of the branding and trademarking (you don't have to register a trademark but you do have to use it!), and a link to Trollcast info on the blog Lots of opportunities to give pledges all the info the need to get up to speed on what TFM has been up to - if you see what I mean? Philip PS: If it's any consolation I didn't spot the potential for confusion, but now I am aware I can see how it can be taken the wrong way - though I think it's more down to an initial 'impression' from a quick scan (and then being wrong-footed once the quick-scanning potential pledge starts reading), rather than your actual words being confusing. I would imagine that those unfamiliar with TFM (i.e. not aware of the current grubs etc.) are far more likely to quick-scan first to spot something of interest before settling down for a good read. These are the pledges you are now after, and any help you can give them will benefit the Kickstarter...

Right the point, everyone's reception is different. I wouldn't worry too much about it, it's certainly not a big deal, just thought it might be worth mentioning.
Cheers.
