The title says it all, and if the picture appears, that'll be another 1000 words, so I'll keep it brief;
Fantasy minotaurs who take their pay in blood, honour and plunder, considering no job too gruesome and keeping morality decidedly out of mind. They are invisioned as being civilised to the extent that they have learned the vernacular and wear clothes. I imagine these minotaurs as having human feet, literally just a bull's head, following the traditional Greek representation of Pasiphae's spawn.
So, I've talked too much already, but one final thing, I'd love to see a well-sculpted group of these guys in the store(conditional on whether or not anyone sees this as any more than an exercise in making bulls' heads to stick on GW bodies.), so feel free to comment, criticise, laugh, whatever.
(Edited to fix the picture problem- photobucket- let me know if you can/can't see the picture although I can't seem to get rid of the attachment below )
Sounds interesting. Next time you should try to make a bigger picture. The attachment for photos on this forum is quite limited, so if you want to post pictures it would be better to do that either through your blog or through a photo hosting site like photobucket.com.
As for the concept itself, it sounds quite interesting like I said above, do you also sculpt?
Bits Blitz - the place to be for all your bits needs!
Okay, thanks, schoolboy error eh? I'll re-post a less compressed version at some point.
In answer to your question, no, I have hardly touched green stuff, the most I've done is to take a Games Workshop Ork head and sculpt a severed trachea and oesophegas and a bit of torn skin to smooth it in; I completely ignored any musculature. I'll work on getting a picture of that up, might PM you as not to hijack my own thread?
A crudely colourised image of a duel between a minotaur and a regular militiaman; I'm just going for an aesthetic that accepts human proportions and selects the perfect size od head for the minotaur so that it doesn't look top heavy, and plus, it's more interesting with colour isn't it?
Also, a sketch I've just had a chance to scan:

This will be my last post on this thread for a while: looking around, there doesn't seem to be much interest in minotaurs, let alone a set of resin cast sophisticated minotaur mercenaries. I can see that it doesn't fit any genre particularly well. Either way, it's been a fun and educating exploration. Feel free to post your opinions/ideas concerning this idea, it seems rather a dead end to me at this point though.
Wow, nice minis! : I'm happy with your idea too- perhaps 'minocaprinae' and 'minoasinae' would be good? In the meantime, I've also thought about broadening out from the Landesknechte start point and I'm playing with the idea of:
highlander bulls wearing kilts (still wielding longswords though of course),
sturdy, spanish bulls wearing ironic matador costume and maybe even...
a Hindu bull (conditional of course on whether or not this could be seen as offencive to some) wearing traditional warriors' livery and holding appropriate weapons.
Thanks for your show of interest; I'll try and draw out some of the ideas discussed here when I get a free moment over the next few days: bulls... goats... rams... oryx... donkeys...
