HEY all, I had done some sculpts of apocalyptic-ish vehicle riders before. Tonight I made some hard choices and did some decapitating and restructuring of the one worthy to live. Added some tatter to the clothing and got rid of the uzi. I'll give him some more gear around his belt and thought I might actually give him a sheild and a DIY hand to hand weapon. Good for a settler maybe. I know you have a well defined idea for what you see for your scuplts, and you intend to do them yourself, but we've yet to see your exact look. am I close?
don't know if this fits into game design or fluff, but I think a quality like 'inventiveness' or 'ancient memory' would be a cool stat line or special skill. where the unit hasn't lost the ability to create or rather is quite resourceful and has been able to harness the raw materials of a waste world and make all the cool post -apocalytic gadgets and technology. for instance he has a high 'resourcefulness' stat line and can build vehicles or has created a telescope and can see the enemy better. I imagine alot of people have 'reverted' to a pretty lowly beastial state and those that haven't should benefit. maybe that's something you've already thought of, maybe not.
Inventiveness, Improvisation and Tech ability will all be in the 'skill/learning tree' in the character advancement section o the campaign system.
Skills will give a variety o test bonuses (and penalties), special rules, unique actions and open access to new weapons, equipment, henchmen and vehicles (an unskilled model can try to use kit their not used to but there are penalties and in some cases risks)
A player will have the option when advancing to increase stats or 'purchase' skills
a character with high stats but no skills and only basic equipment will probably be seriously disadvantaged against a model with lesser stats but better skills and/or kit. just because you're smart, quick or strong doesn't mean you have what it takes to survive in the wastes.
