Well, so far our forum denizens seem to indicate that for starters they'd like to see at least one mini of each of the player races. In our experience the most played races are Eridani, Ram Python, Human, Orion, and Mutzachan. Their next request is one of each player race in full armor. Other than that is they are just concerned about the minis being in proper scale with each other, but I think with the size chart we provided, that won't be an issue.

Well, pretty much like an armored human would look like with just more fingers. I think the difference would be more in the paint scheme, but it might be fun to give him lots of grenades or something. Orions tend to be the demolitions guys on a team (we're talking sterotypes here).

As a bit of book-keeping, I would like to ask that everyone that is working on sculpts for SSDC minis please download our standard non-disclosure agreement, since I may be making available to you guys art and concepts that haven't been published yet. The form is available here: www.ssdc.com/dl/nda.doc
And you can mail it here: SSDC, Inc. PO Box 60575 Sunnyvale, CA 94088 or if mailing is a pain, you can email us an electronic version at info[at]ssdc.com
Our stereotype in the game for Orions is that they like stuff that is ostentatious or makes a loud noise. So, Archaic Powder Weapons (21st century assault rifles) are popular since lasers are fairly quiet, auto-shotguns, and the like. They also like sniper rifles too, Gauss rifles (rail guns) being a fav, though they may be hard to sculpt since they are quite long and thin. I can post a weapon sheet if its helpful.

I was looking through my books the other night when I got home from the hospital, best relaxing thing for me, anyway... I thought of the hitchhikeing Orion with the chest hair, cigar, and shiny skin suit. Makes me laugh and think of a almost sci-fi disco traveler. Might be another cool orion but he was missing his kilt, or it seemed so.
I was looking over Ferk's sculpt last night deciding upon placement and to be honest they are all very well done and grow on me more and more as I look at them. Soon as these mutants are out of my way in the mold frame I'll squeeze a set of these in to get the masters clean.

That's awesome TF. Thanks! I wish I had more time for this project. I am spending every spare sculpty minute on a sculpting job I got a couple of months ago now. The SSDC project was very fun though and I wish I had more time. Gotta go where teh money is unfortunantly. I think this fall is gonna be the soonest I can really start in earnest on these. I'd like to do another heaviliy armed Orion on top of the others. If you guys want tos ee what i've been up to outside the realm of TF check out,,
I have been doing thier rank and file units and having alot of fun. They are going to gencon this August and i've been sculpting doubletime to get stuff out which has helped my discipline and helped me simplyfy my techniques alot. Anyway, sorry i've been such a coquette here at TF. Looking forward to the fall and to the day when i can pay my rent with this hobby o mine.. dan
