Everyones favourite, I hope to do a number of different mechanicus themed minis in the long run so I'll use this to display the work.
To go with the minis I'd like a number of little 'pieces' or 'accessories' for them... not necessarily small. Not sure how Troll Forge feels about it but I'm talking artillery, mini tracked things and maybe some walking weapons.
First up will be a little artillery set. Two drones (shown below), a servitor/cyborg to be started and a little cannon. Barrel made so far now for the wheels, breach, body and carriage. Empty shell too. Guitar wire is about to be added to the minis and a little tidying up, oh and claws for the mechanical arms.

Here's my new stash of material, lots of tubing round and square, guitar wire, mesh, ripped plastic rods and razor wire. What fun !

I'd like to own a few of these for myself, love them. I mentioned getting cogs and stuff over at the warseer blog of yours as well. Only comment I can make. Are you going to add any guitaur or bass wire? Would be rgreat additions to those holes in the robes. I also planed to do a few of these after the fantasy run, hope you don't mind.

I love all the Mechanicus stuff so I'll watch this thread with great interest. I love myself to add bass guitar chords on models. I have the luck to have these old Citadel mechanicus stuff and still love it a lot, and your sculpt in exactly in this spirit, so keep up the great work man !

Yeah I'll be using the guitar strings on the minis themselves too, I'd like to make mini with a tube coming out it's mouth and going into a fuse box or something hehe.
Quite tough to work with though, struggling to get it to hug the minis so it's easier for casting. It looks good slung under the robotic arms.
The servitor will be quite cyborg like, akin to terminator with half the skin ripped off.
I like to think that mechanicus/tech could be a section of the webstore where everyone pools their minis into one range, I'm all for the idea of collaboration !

What can we expect of this cannon, will it be mounted on wheels, tracks or maybe even feet?
Love the robed figures by the way, especially the one with the bionic arms!

Tracks for this. It'll be modular (tracks, frame, breach, barrel) so I can make a few different weapons for it and either mount them on tracks, wheels or legs.

Yes I've seen that flying around.
I think my stuff will be more leaning towards guardsmen support than marines.

One tip with the wire is to work it into fresh putty when you have the chance, but if you don't, or cant' I take a small bead and work it behind the wire. It's very thin so you can't see the green stuff but only from the side. It cuts off rubber going behind and is not at all noticable. In fact if you look at a lot of minis out there your going to see some similar type of thing but more drastic due to plastic or metal. Can you show me what your problem is and I'll see if I can help you? I have also heated wire with a map gas torch but you have to be careful and fast. If it gets to hot the thin wire melts or unwinds. I then bend when softer and it's a lot easier. Pluss it sorta "aneals" not sure of the spelling, that means softens metal. Jewlers do it will lots of stuff.

It's just stiff and fiddly work, I'll get there.
First pass at a track, looks better in the flesh:

Looks very good. You know you might even look around for textured plastic card so you could have extra details on the tracks! Even I beams or low C channel where you have a ridge on one side would work. I might even try my hands at a vehicle kit down the road. I built a thermo vacuum caster years ago and only used it once to make textured sheets but now that I think of it would work great with tank kit blanks!

I like it but 2 things bother me. Those cogs, gears, and the part of the hydrolic. Here is why. The plastic is so smooth and exact along with the rivet you sculpted in contrast to the robes. Those pieces look like you rushed them or did not finish them next to the rest. I just know your ability after getting these minis in my hands, however in your defence it is blown up tons and might not look all that bad in scale. Just thought I'd give you my 2cents. They are yours after all.

You can see what you think when I post them, if you dont think they're worth casting thats ok I won't be weird about it haha.
I actually think the robe work is better than on the muties ! Way more detailed. The clean edges on the arms are a good contrast to the soft ragged cloth of the robes, it looks like a robot wearing a cloak. If anything I'm not happy with the cogs but that's just different tastes, they're a bit soft looking compared to the plasticard.
I'll see what the casts of the mutants look like, the outcome will probably influence my sculpting in some way or another.
